When fastpitch softball was brought to Hutchinson, it was started by Dick Stremmel and Ron Hamby Sr. with 4 teams at Our Lady of Guadalupe church in South Hutchinson.
The league quickly grew into the popular sport it is today. Ron and Dick's original team was the Slammers and we are reigniting the passion and dedication showed by these 2 men by restarting the tradition with Ron's oldest son Ron II as head coach.
Ron II has been involved in the game since he was 16 years old and began playing mens fast pitch and has continued his involvement, thru playing, umpiring or coaching for the past 30 plus years.
We believe that the game of Fastpitch softball and youth sports in general offer so much to the young athlete.
Through the game they are taught so many important life skills that give each girl a dedication to excellence both on and off the field.
These skills include, teamwork, dedication, critical thinking, focus, overcoming obstacles and leadership.
All which are important in leading a life of excellence.
The girls on our team are all dedicated athletes who desire to push themselves on and off the field.
We are looking for girls, who want to be part of something more then a team. We will build a softball family where each member is a sister and the coaches are mentors and parental figures.
Our vision is to constantly push the girls to challenge themselves. One way we will practice this is through a full competitive schedule, playing a few fall ball tournaments and 6 or more spring and summer tournaments and league. While placing their school activities as a number one priority.
We fully believe in God and Family first and ask for open honest communication from all members of our softball family.
